Contour Lines You Can Farm

A terraced hillside is a thousand years of small decisions that add up to sculpture. Nobody designed the whole; each generation carved one more shelf, followed the water, respected the curve — and the mountain slowly became legible.

Photographed at planting season, the terraces flood and turn to mirror-work, a hillside of sky held in mud walls. At harvest they go gold. Both versions are in this collection, because choosing was not possible.

These are landscapes where the human mark makes the scene more natural-feeling, not less — a rare category, and a quietly hopeful one.
